Articles

I have compiled some news articles about snakes from popular media, I was genuinely surprised at the amount of bad press they receive even today.

All of these articles will be helpful in piecing together different opinions and views on snakes in modern culture, I will now begin to look at, their place in history and religious texts.

New subject

I have chosen now to look at the representation of snakes in media and culture, this will be a lot more suitable as the information required will be from media (published articles etc.) and I could even use things like religious scriptures.
I have realised through a few hours of research that the four subjects outlined in my SWOT analysis' would be unsuitable subjects to undertake for my EPQ. The main reason being that I was mostly invested in doing the one about neurological issues, the main issue I had with that was that the subject was so specific there were only 3 books that I would have been able to use and even then only small parts of the book would have relevant information. Another issue was that 2 of the books would have been roughly £40 each and the third was no longer being published. I shall continue research looking for another subject.

A series of SWOT analysis' for the potential subjects I will undertake for my EPQ.

The potential implications (genetic and moral) of certain breeding practices in exotic animals; predominantly cross breeding and neurological issues associated with selective pattern breeding.
Should the ownership of any animal require licensing similar to a DWA (Dangerous Wild Animal) licence?

Is the strictness and price of DWA (Dangerous Wild Animal) licensing for private ownership justifiable?

The risks to ecosystems of keeping wild caught animals, as oppose to waiting for captive bred individuals.
